He’s not quite the shark whisperer.
But Andrew Mayne, an illusionist and magician, has managed to come up with a way to commune with the beasts unlike just about anyone else.
In his very own customized diving apparel, dubbed “Ghost Diver,” Mayne can make himself virtually invisible to sharks. The suit works by manipulating light in the water, allowing Mayne to virtually disappear.
“Next thing you know,” Mayne told CNET, “you find yourself 80 feet underwater surrounded by great whites going, ‘How the hell did this happen?”
The daredevil showed off his new threads during a television special dubbed “Andrew Mayne: Ghost Diver” on Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” on Friday.
