Wayne Rooney becomes 'Lord of the Manor' as £20m luxury Cheshire estate gets a new posh name

The Rooney family's new mansion has a name

Wayne Rooney and wife Coleen can now call themselves lord and lady of their new £20 million Cheshire mansion after developers revealed the name of the estate online. Brighouse Homes boast that the newly built property of the former Manchester United star is a “luxury estate of distinction”.

The six-bedroom home sits within 50 acres of farmland, and mixes traditional and contemporary styles, with modern features. It comes with an indoor swimming pool and spa, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass windows looking out onto the landscaped gardens.

Once known as Mount Pleasant Farm, the country estate, located within the 'Golden Triangle' in the village of Ollerton, has been named High Lake Manor, the Mirror reports. The pad lives up to its Downtown-style posh moniker as it comes with its own library and orangeries.

Situated in a secluded spot behind a lake, the mansion is decorated with “luxurious interiors” and is set within “magnificent grounds,” developer Brighouse Homes says on its website. The impressive write-up is a far cry from when social media users likened the building to a Morrisons supermarket when pictures were first unearthed online.

Rooney - now manager of Championship team Derby County - has installed a snooker room, home cinema, wine cellar, and a stable area with space for 14 horses. Other features include a whiskey and cigar room, and a study - perfect for keeping the footballer’s three autobiographies.
